South Gippsland is a renowned food-producing region, perfect for exploring local food trails. Discover boutique wineries, slow food restaurants, and casual cafes in charming rural towns and villages.

Visit Nearby National Parks

Just 80 km along the coast is Wilsons Promontory National Park. Pack a picnic and explore its pristine beaches, or challenge yourself with a climb up Mt Oberon for 360° views from the southernmost point of mainland Australia. The Bunurong Marine National Park, 26 km away, offers exceptional marine life and is a fantastic spot for snorkelling and scuba diving.

Birdwatching Paradise

Bird enthusiasts will love the Venus Bay Peninsula, an internationally recognized migratory bird site. Species from Siberia, Tasmania, Japan, and beyond come to feed on the Anderson Inlet wetlands. Bushland birds, raptors, owls, sea birds, and water birds all inhabit the diverse habitats of the peninsula. Several bird hides are within walking distance for prime viewing.

Explore Bushland and Beaches

Take a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute drive to Cape Liptrap Coastal Park, where you'll find over 26 km of stunning sandy beaches. Enjoy beach picnics, swimming, fishing, surfing, bodyboarding, and nature walks. Don’t miss the spectacular sunset over the Southern Ocean.

Explore the Anderson Inlet walk, which adjoins Pt Smythe Nature Reserve in Cape Liptrap Coastal Park. Here, sheltered trails lead to pristine wetlands, ocean views, and picturesque sandy coves.
